A member of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Benjamin Apugo has stated that it is the turn of the Ohuhu clan to represent the Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency of Abia state in the House of Representatives.
Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Chinedum Orji, who hails from Ibeku, is also contesting for the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency on the ticket of the PDP.
He insisted that he will always stand for what is right before God and man, adding that his unalloyed support for the Labour Party candidate was because the Ohuhu clan should produce the House of Representatives candidate for the constituency in the 2023 election.
Prince Apugo who declared this while receiving the candidate of the Labour party for the position, Chief Obi Aguocha, who called on him at his Ibeku country home, Umuahia, urged all well-meaning indigenes of Ikwuano/Umuahia to vote for Aguocha in the forthcoming elections to preserve the balance, understanding and fair play in the sharing of political offices between Ibeku and Ohuhu.
Prince Apugo emphasized the need to always adhere to the basic principles of equity, justice, and fairness.
He expressed sadness that some individuals will contrive baseless arguments to justify their actions aimed at undermining the truth for selfish reasons.
He noted that Ohuhu and Ibeku are one indissoluble entity, stressing that it is unfair to deny Ohuhu clan a chance to represent the constituency when other clans have had their turns at position.
He said; “It is the turn of the Ohuhu clan to represent Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency in 2023. Ohuhu and Ibeku are the same and inseparable. Other clans have taken their turns. Nobody should bring division between us. I will always stand by the truth. All well-meaning indigenes of Ikwuano/Umuahia should vote for Obi Aguocha in the forthcoming elections to preserve the balance, understanding and fair play in the sharing of political office between Ibeku and Ohuhu.”
While commending Prince Apugo for always standing by the truth, Aguocha who was accompanied on the visit by the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, campaign director, Hon. Acho Obioma, among others, pledged to ensure quality representation for the people if elected into office in 2023.
