The All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Abia State, has called on the representative of the South East zone at the Board of the National Pension Commission, (Pencom), Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, and the member representing Abia state in the Revenue Allocation, Mobilization and Fiscal Commission, (RMAFC), Dr. Chris Akomas, to work for the unity of the party as the 2023 election draws near.
The party also called on the ex member of Board of Trustees of APC, Chief Sam Nkire to work for the unity of the party.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that just like the Chief of the Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu; Anyim, Akomas and Nkire who all hail from Obingwa LGA had never identified with the APC in the area, even with the reconciliation of the then the Chief Ikechi Emenike and Hon. Donatus Nwankpa factions of the party at Ntalakwu in Ikwuano LGA in June 2022.
The indifference of the three party chieftains has led to some members of the APC in the area fueling rumours that the trio are working for the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led PDP administration in the state.
Chairman of the APC in Obingwa LGA, Chief Uzoma Ahaiwe, explained that the APC in the area cannot be complete without the contributions of the three party chieftains.
He stated the executive committee and members of the party have considered the enormous task in delivering candidates and desire the support of the chieftains to ensure that the APC emerges victorious in the presidential, governorship and legislative positions in the state.
“The APC in Obingwa LGA needs the contributions of Dr Chris Akomas, Dr Chinenye Nyerere and Chief Sam Nkire to unite APC in the local government. It will be of immense benefit to the party if you will assist us with your contributions to grow the APC in Obingwa.
“I hold you great illustrious sons of Obingwa LGA in high esteem. Thank you in anticipation of the unity and victory of APC. I consider my leadership to be incomplete without your presence, ideas, suggestions and contributions. The executive committee and members desire your contribution at this crucial political moment and beyond, considering the enormous tasks ahead to deliver out pretty candidates through our various polling units. All hands need to be on deck to ensure that the APC delivers all her candidates in the elections.”
