There is a heavy fire outbreak in a fuel station along Aba Road Umuahia.
The fuel station known as Masters Energy petrol Station has been on fire for the past 3 hours with officers of fire Service struggling to quench the fire.
It was gathered that a tanker driver was discharging gas to the underground tank inside the petrol station when he suddenly noticed fire under the truck which eventually engulfed the entire place.
However, the officers of the fire service Abia state arrived with different vehicles to control the fire , yet the fire refused to be controlled as at the time of filling this report.
The fire has caused panic among residents of Umuahia, especially those residing along Aba Road Umuahia.
The fire gradually extended to a campaign office belonging to the Senator representing Abia Central constituency, Chief T.A .Orji.
Addressing newsmen, the Chief of staff to Abia state government, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere said, ” We just thank God the fire has been controlled I advice that every business place should have fire extinguisher,
especially now that we have harmattan period.
“We must be ready at all times , those who do not have fire extinguisher must be ready to do so “
