The APC via its Public Relations Officer, Okelo Madukaife condemned frequent abroad travels without due permission and clearance.
While calling on the state House of Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against the governor for leaving the state without permit.
He said, “Our dynamic chapter of our great party would not like to get in-between the creative tension between Anambra State Government and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission regarding who is on what list and how.
“We however care about a new issue that has emerged from the responses given from ANSG side to effect that Anambra State Governor is already abroad.
“The burning question is:Does it have to take the issues arising from EFCC for Anambra State to know that their governor is abroad?
“Is it so difficult after seven years and eight months to understand that Anambra State is entitled to know when Governor Obiano is leaving the state, and for what purpose, let alone when he is leaving the country?
“Why can’t Obiano and his government learn from President Muhammadu Buhari on this count?
“Besides, being abroad the state ought to have been told if it is a holiday, a working visit etc and the duration which connects the question of who is in charge of the state in his absence.
“The governor is hereby reminded that subject to the specifics of this closet gubernatorial trip, which cloudiness may have prompted the EFCC open statement, the governor ought to notify Anambra State House of Assembly, so that Dr Nkem Okeke the Deputy Governor will act as governor until he is back.
Adding the opposition party said
“Our own checks indicae that the governor stealthily left the shores of Nigeria on on November 10,2021.
“Anambra State House of Assembly should begin an impeachment proceeding. We expected more from the Minority Leader.
“Anambra State citizens are hereby invited to pick up interest in this continous flouting of constitutional provisions and check if this trip has to do with disappearing Local Government Funds, which are not getting to respective owners.
“They should also register their views not to continue getting poorer to their respective representatives, who should be put on notice not to seek a fresh mandate.
