Apex Igbo socio cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has congratulated the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for emerging victorious in the just concluded Anambra State governorship election.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, appealed to all governorship candidates of political parties in the election to accept Soludo’s victory as the will of the Anambra electorate.

The group urged the candidates embrace Soludo’s hands of fellowship to build the state and not to resort to challenge the outcome of the poll in the tribunal as the election was generally peaceful and credible.

“Ndigbo congratulates Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for the resounding success and victory in the Anambra governorship election. We compliment the uncommon courage and tolerance of Ndi- Anambra to sustain the visions of the legendary icon, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu by ensuring that the only way to immortalize him was to ensure that APGA remains the Igbo identity.

“Governor Willie Obiano’s prompt payment of Anambra workers salaries and welfare benefits is a great model for other states to embrace. This is the secret of the electoral success and victory in November 6th Governorship elections. This is the verdict of the people.

While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for being neutral without interfering in the elections in favour of his party, Ohanaeze also lauded INEC for being independent and carrying out her constitutional duties without fear or favour.

“Ohanaeze Commends President Muhammadu Buhari for being neutral and manipulating the election in favour of his party, the APC. We also commend the INEC for conducting free, fair and credible elections in Anambra State. There was no evidence of widespread electoral malpractice. However, we warn against utilizing the Supreme Court to swap the people’s mandate given to Soludo by Anambra people.”
