The Abia State government has underscored the importance of youth inclusion in all spheres of human life for society to develop.
The state Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu who further described youths as future leaders with deposit of great potential for the community, State and society at large, noted that the role and impact of young people cannot be ignored.
Sir Oko Chukwu stated this while unveiling the commencement of a three day 2021 Nkporo Youth Summit with the theme “Nkporo Youth For Sustainable Community Development” held at the International Conference Center, Umuahia.
Represented by a former TC Chairman of Bende LGA, Chief PC Onyegbu, the deputy governor encouraged Nkporo youths to remain strongly alive to their God assigned responsibilities as they have distinct and critical roles to play in the growth and development of Nkporo Land and commended them for their committment and determination towards the cause the advancement of Nkporo Clan.
He used the forum to reassure the state government’s willingness to always partner and support relevant groups and organizations including Nkporo youths for the common good of all and appreciated the sponsor and convener of the maiden edition of the summit for his initiative and other philanthropic steps undertaken in the interest of their people while urging participants to take advantage of opportunities provided by the summit and cross fertilize ideas on the way forward.
In his address presented via zoom, the Convener, Nkporo National Youth Summit 2021, Chief Jackson Ude who stressed the need for every stakeholder in Nkporo Land to pay more attention to the quality of education orientations and mindset in line with changing times inorder to fix their human capacity and urged the youths to use the summit to retool and reenergize themselves and make Nkporo Land strong again.
The summit which featured presentation of lectures by various Resource Persons attracted the presence of top Government Officials and party Chieftains including the PDP State Secretary, Chief David Iroh, Nkporo Council of Traditional Rulers and other notable personalities.
