Peter Obi had gone to court after the controversial February 25 presidential election to seek a declaration of the tribunal that he actually won the poll.
The Professor Yakubu Mahmoud-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of the poll.
Both local and international election observers have criticized the poll as lacking in integrity.
Justice Haruna Tsammani, the Presiding Justice of the court, made the announcement a moment ago after lawyers to petitioners and the respondents adopted their final written addresses and made their last submissions.
Lawyer to the petitioners, Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), argued that his clients proved their case beyond any reasonable doubt and prayed the court to grant the reliefs sought.
However, lawyers to the respondents – Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President, Kashim Shettma, and Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) – prayed the court to dismiss the petition for lacking in merit.
Mahmoud, Olanipekun and Fagbemi argued that the petitioners failed to prove their case with relevant evidence.
