Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA), in Abia State, Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu , has said that the party has continued to disobey the Court of Appeal judgment which reinstated him as the chairman of the party in the state.
The Court of Appeal, Owerri , had on April 7,2022, in suit No; CA/OW/26/2019, declared Ukaegbu as the authentic chairman of APGA in Abia state.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that the judgment of the Court of Appeal is in agreement with Suit No; HU/82/2018, judgment delivered on September 25, 2018, by an Abia State High Court, sitting in Umuahia.
Ukaegbu, who disclosed that he had filed a suit on the continued disobedience of the court order on the former state chairman of the party, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and other defendants, stated that he is poised to rescue APGA from those who have been using the party as a tool of merchandize in every election circle.
He said; “I have defeated the sacked executive of Augustine Ehiemere thrice in court yet they have continued to violate the judgment of the court which is a criminal offence. They have chosen to act contrary to the judgment of the court which comes with serious consequences for APGA with the 2023 general elections at hand. The State High Court, Umuahia and the Court of Appeal, Owerri, have delivered judgments declaring me as the authentic state chairman of APGA in Abia. After the Court of Appeal judgment, they returned to the same court asking it to set aside the judgment, but the Court awarded N2 million cost against them.
“Instead of appealing to the Supreme Court, they returned to the Court of Appeal which had already delivered judgment on the suit. Their loss during their return to the Court of Appeal was the third time I have defeated them on the matter and the courts declared me as the authentic chairman. They have refused to obey the court order. People should ask them why they refused to appeal to the Supreme Court. They even said that they will not appeal to the apex court, all they know is that they can never allow me to be the chairman of APGA in Abia state. I have filed a suit on the disobedience of court order. The court will soon deliver judgment on it.”
Contacted, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, said Ukaegbu is no longer the Chairman of APGA in thr state as his tenure expired in 2015.
