Despite the statement of the Directorate Of State, DOS of the pro Biafra group, IPOB directing that there would no sit-at-home in Biafraland except on Tuesday January 18,  the reportedly suspended weekly protest put in place by the group to protest the alleged incarceration of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu ,however still held in Enugu.
The level of compliance is very high as offices, markets, motorparks, filling states, schools, shops, supermarkets, banksrestaurants, bars, eateries and other public places are all shut.
The major roads, streets and the inner city are bereft of the usual heavy vehicular traffic just as inter state and rural  roads as well as express and federal high ways are all devoid of vehicles, trucks and articulated vehicles.
The phenomenal compliance level may not be unconnected with last Monday’s shooting spree exhibited by unknown persons who rampaged through out Enugu metropolis and environs,  resulting in mortalies and destruction of property of deviant commuters.
“My brother, life has no duplicate. It will be suicidal after what I went through last Monday, for me to come out. I and my people remain indoors till after Thursday,”declared Mrs Udenma Chukwu, a tomato seller on One Day Road Enugu.
“Since nobody is going to drag me out from my house, there is no problem”,said Barnabas Uligwe, a second hand tyre dealer on Agbani Road, Enugu.
For Dara Sam Onwuchekwa” Buhari should save nation all these avoidable problem. Let him free Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu because we are free under democracy to say our minds.”
So far there has been isolated reports of attacks on motorists and trycle operators though there has been motorist mixed patrol along the roads but no arrests have been made.
