Soldiers guarding a commercial bank in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State have killed three suspected members of Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB).
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the suspected IPOB members were parading round the community when they came face to face with the soldiers and a gun exchange ensued.

Commissioner of Police, Abia State, Mrs Janet Agbede, disclosed that the IPOB members numbering about fifty had attacked the soldiers with guns and machetes, but were overpowered by the soldiers.

According to her, three of the IPOB members died from the bullet wounds sustained during the exchange with the soldiers.

CP Agbede said “The soldiers made a counter attack and three of the hoodlums were neutralized during the exchange of fire. The superior fire power of the soldiers made the hoodlums disperse. As of now, effort has been intensified to track down the fleeing hoodlums.”

She appealed to the public to report anybody with a bullet wound to the nearest Police station or other security agencies.
