Gunmen on Thursday attacked Ojoto Police station in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state.
It was gathered a Police Inspector was killed during the attack.
However, it was gathered the station was not burnt as police operatives repelled the attack.
Anambra Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, said he was planning to visit the area immediately to get on the spot assessment to get full details of the event.
He said he would give out full details after the trip.
But a Senior Police Officer, who spoke under condition of anonymity, confirmed the attack
“We lost one Inspector today again,” he said.
According to him, the Police Commissioner, Chris Owolabi was preparing to visit the Police station.
An eyewitness said the hoodlums came in three Sienna vehicles but were repelled by policemen on duty.
