Following the killings and attacks on security formations in the South
East zone over the agitation for Biafra; a group, Biafra Liberation
Council (BLC), has warned some Igbo people in Diaspora against pushing
Igbo youths to violence, but should return home to ‘ride the ride the
tiger themselves’.

The group lamented that Igbo land has become a theatre of war through
misguided statements, threats and war mongering, stressing that Ndigbo
must not give haters the opportunity destroy the land.

BLC, in a press statement signed by its Administrative Secretary,
Comrade Austin-Mary Ndukwu, lamented that instead of abating the
problems of the Igbo people,    the misguided statements have emboldened
the Nigerian state to orchestrate their age long plot and conspiracy to
occupy Igbo land and subject her people to live in fear and servitude.

He said; “Biafra Liberation Council reminds all comrades that it is
against the tenets of present agitation to make our land a theatre of
war. You don’t give the opposition room to invade or occupy your land.
We must not forget that any revolution that turns against those it is
out to liberate is not worth it. Those who live in the diaspora  goading
our youths  to their untimely deaths  should stop or alternatively
return home to ride the tiger themselves.

“Sequel to the nascent activities of those who want to turn our land
into a killing field, capitalizing on the actions of and stupid unsavory
utterances of certain individuals and groups to collateral damage and
tension in our land, masquerading under the tag of unknown gunmen, our
people must not be made to suffer unnecessarily in the hands of the
Nigerian security operatives. It is with distress cum deep concern for
the lives of and continued existence of our people, heritage, faith and
land that the Biafra Liberation Council wants to warn individuals and
groups who are under the guise of Biafra independence agitation to stop
churning out misguided statements, threats and war mongering.

“In as much as BLC manta remains ‘Biafra by any means possible’, won’t
engage into any action that will endanger the holistic existence of our
people. BLC wants every Biafra individual or group to be cautious, both
in their utterances and actions. Let’s not be the aggressor nor destroy
institutions and infrastructures in our land,” the statement read in
part.

The group tasked the Governors and leaders of the Igbo nation to map out
ways to dialogue with the youths to arrest the insecurity situation in
the zone.

The statement further warned the Nigerian security agencies to stop
using force against hapless people, stressing that those whose interest
is to kill and occupy Igbo people’s lands won’t succeed.
