Two police inspectors were killed by gunmen while Obosi Police Station was razed down late Wednesday night by yet unknown gunmen in Obosi,
Anambra State.

The incident took place few hours after the new Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Mr Christopher Adetokumbo Owolabi assumed office in the state.

A reliable source in the area said the gunmen in their large numbers had stormed and attacked the station at about 11pm to 12.00hrs last night, leaving two police Inspectors (names withheld) dead, while all the suspects in the cell were freed before razing down the station.

It was gathered that the victims were killed inside non-functionalfilling station close to the police station when the murdered officers were trying to repeal the attackers from gaining entrance to the station.

The source said when other police officers on duty had noticed unusual movement of the gunmen took to their heels giving the attackers free time to burn down the police station.

When contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochi confirmed the incident.

He said that the Commissioner of police had ordered full investigation of the matter to arrest the perpetrators for prosecution.
