The Concerned Citizens of Igbo Race (COCIR), has charged South East governors to uphold good governance, shun selfishness and work together to promote interests of the Igbo to advance development, peace, cordiality and security.
The group in a resolution reached after a leadership meeting, held at Concorde Hotel, Owerri, on Tuesday, tasked governors and other leaders of South East to discard all forms of anti people and selfish tendencies to pursue positive agenda targeted at common good and progress of the Igbo particularly as it concerns security of life and property.
Signing the communique, COCIR President, Rev. Comr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Omeokwe, Rev. Dr. Basil Ogbonna, Imo State Coordinator and Prince Joseph Nwosu- Okorie, Director of Media, pointed out that “the time for the Igbo to speak with one voice regardless of party affiliations and personal interest has come for the common good of the people, hence COCIR will not close its eyes to any person or groups defaulting the good of Igbo society henceforth”.
Stressing on cooperation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), MASSOB, South East governors and other Igbo leaders and groups for positive way forward for the race, the group appealed for harmonious operations and synergy of Eastern Security Network (ESN) and Ebubeagu security operatives to effectively secure the region and flush out bandits and terrorists out of Igbo.
COCIR advised political leaders of Igbo to do all they can do to win back the lost confidence of the people to prove that they are not there to serve the interest of their Northern Masters by creating and implementing policies and services”.
